Overview

About Pushkar

Pushkar, located in the Ajmer district of Rajasthan, is one of India’s most vibrant spiritual towns, known for its sacred lake, ancient temples, and rich cultural charm. Situated just 10 km from Ajmer and around 150 km from Jaipur, Pushkar is a perfect short escape from Delhi NCR.

Celebrating Holi in Pushkar is truly magical. People from across India and around the world come together to celebrate love, colour, and joy. The Holi festivities here are organised by locals and are open and free for everyone, making it one of the most inclusive celebrations in the country.

For those seeking LGBTQ+ Travel in India, Pushkar offers a beautiful blend of spirituality, culture, and community. With a distance of approximately 418 km from Delhi, Pushkar also makes for a scenic road trip—perfect for a refreshing long-weekend getaway.

At Queer Travelogue, we curate this experience as a safe, inclusive, and premium queer travel getaway, where you can celebrate freely, connect deeply, and create unforgettable memories.

Itinerary

Meet your co-travelers at the boarding point in Gurgaon (Iffco Chowk Metro Station, reporting time: 10:00 PM) in the evening and start your overnight journey to Pushkar – the Home of the Brahma Temple.

This trip is designed as a safe and inclusive space for queer travelers, so get ready to socialize, share stories, and begin this memorable journey of queer travel in India.

Arrive in Pushkar in the morning and check in to a premium 4-star resort. After resting and freshening up, head out (you can explore self or chose to go with trip coordinator) for afternoon sightseeing including Pushkar Lake, the world-famous Brahma Temple, sunset views near the lake, and a walk through Sarafa Bazaar for local shopping.

In the evening, enjoy a local cultural music programme and witness Holika Dahan, marking the beginning of Holi.

Return to the resort for dinner and an overnight stay.

Begin the day with a hearty breakfast at the resort, followed by a grand in-house Holi celebration. Gather in the resort garden for a vibrant Holi party with DJ music, rain dance, colours, and high-energy vibes, celebrating alongside fellow queer travellers in a safe, inclusive, and joyful space. For those who wish to explore, you may head out on your own to experience local Holi celebrations in Pushkar. Otherwise, relax and enjoy a fully curated Holi experience within the resort, designed to celebrate freely and fabulously.

In the evening, unwind at the resort or opt for café hopping and leisure time. Dinner will be served at the resort, followed by an overnight stay.

After breakfast, check out from the resort and begin the return journey to Gurugram.

En route, visit the famous Marble Dumpyard in Kishangarh, one of the largest marble markets in Asia and a popular photography spot. Continue the journey back and arrive in Gurugram late at night with beautiful memories.

This is not just the end of a trip, but the beginning of lasting connections, new friendships, and cherished memories. Share your experiences and inspire other LGBTQ+ travelers to join the safe, inclusive journeys we create at Queer Travelogue.
