Overview

Kedarnath Queer Trip

A soulful Himalayan journey of faith, connection & self-discovery

Hidden deep in the Garhwal Himalayas, Kedarnath Temple is more than just a destination – it’s an experience that stays with you long after the journey ends. Surrounded by snow-capped peaks and raw mountain beauty, this sacred space offers a rare blend of spirituality, adventure, and inner stillness.

With Queer Travelogue, this journey becomes even more meaningful because you’re not just traveling, you’re doing it in a safe, inclusive, and affirming space for LGBTQ+ travelers in India

At Queer Travelogue, we believe in creating a safe space for queer travelers to experience the magic of Kedarnath where history, culture, faith and inclusivity come together to make your journey unforgettable.

Itinerary

Meet your co-travelers at the boarding point in Delhi (Akshardham Metro Station, reporting time: 8:00 PM) at night and start your overnight journey to Guptkashi.
This trip is designed as a safe and inclusive space for queer travelers, so get ready to socialize, share stories, and begin this memorable journey of queer travel in India.

Arrive in the beautiful mountain towns of Guptkashi / Sonprayag, surrounded by the serenity of the Himalayas by afternoon or evening.

En-route Highlights:

  • Visit Devprayag - the sacred confluence of rivers
  • Stop at Dhari Devi Temple - a powerful spiritual site

Soak in the scenic beauty of the mountains as we continue our journey.

After check-in, unwind and relax. End the day with dinner and an overnight stay.

A calm pause before the transformative journey ahead.

Start early with packed breakfast and head towards the starting point of your Kedarnath trek.

We will drive to Sitapur parking and from there we can take a local taxi to Gaurikund (fare not included as it depends on the availability and traffic)

From Gaurikund begin the 18 km Kedarnath Yatra - a journey through breathtaking landscapes and spiritual energy.

  • Helicopter (optional)

Arrive at the sacred Kedarnath Temple and experience the divine energy of one of the most revered shrines in India.

Overnight stay near the temple.

This is more than a trek, it’s a journey within.

Wake up early for morning darshan and soak in the calm of Kedarnath before the descent.

If time permits, visit Bhairavnath Temple (short 1 km trek)

Begin your trek back to Gaurikund and return via shared transport to Sitapur, where our vehicle will pick you up.

Drive back to Guptkashi / Sonprayag, followed by dinner and overnight stay in hotel.

After breakfast, begin your journey back towards Rishikesh.

Spend some relaxed time in Rishikesh, known as the yoga capital of India, before continuing your overnight journey back to Delhi.

Arrive back in Delhi by morning. This is not just the end of a trip, but the beginning of lasting connections, new friendships, and cherished memories. Share your experiences and inspire other LGBTQ+ travelers to join the safe, inclusive journeys we create at Queer Travelogue.

Important Note

Kedarnath is a sacred and religious destination, so we request everyone to be mindful of local sentiments throughout the trip.

  • Dress & Decorum: Please avoid loud or bold clothing during the trek and in temple premises. While this is a queer trip, such places may not always be fully inclusive, so maintaining a simple and respectful appearance helps ensure everyone’s safety and comfort.
  • Respect the Space: This is a spiritual journey focused on darshan, not a party trip. Let’s honor the sanctity of the place and be respectful towards local culture.
  • Stay Aware: Being mindful in public spaces will help avoid any discomfort and ensure a smooth experience for the group.
  • Basic Facilities: Expect simple accommodations and crowded conditions during the season. This is a raw mountain experience, not a luxury stay.

Let’s travel with respect, awareness, and care for each other.
